Who is off 4th Ave- Rabbits & Upcoming Celebrations

The Owl’s Nest – a community preschool is off 4th.  We are located on the beautiful Jericho Military Site and still part of the Kitsilano Neighbourhood House family.

Since the last blog, we have celebrated Spring Break, Easter, and another monthly potluck!  Another celebration we will be having is to commemorate the new names of Bumbletree Childcare and The Owl’s Nest Preschool. It will take place at the preschool Saturday, May 26th, 11am to 2pm. Come and join us, bring your friends, and have some cake, refreshments and fun for the whole family.

Just prior to Easter, we were very surprised to have the Easter Rabbit drop by. The Easter Rabbit had enough time to listen to the children sing a couple of songs, hand out an Easter treat, and then “hop off” to do some other important jobs.

The children have been watching “tadpoles” in the classroom. A parent, who has access to a pond, brought in some frog eggs, and we have been watching for daily changes in the tadpoles. Next week, the children will begin creating their own books about the life cycle of a frog.

Today, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves outdoors, kicking balls, picking daisies, dandelions, and best of all, blowing the seeds of the dandelions. Ooh to be young!
