Who is off 4th?

The Owl’s Nest – a community preschool is off 4th. We are located on the beautiful Jericho Military Site and still part of the Kitsilano Neighbourhood House family.
On Wednesday May 9th, the children played host to their mum’s for Mother’s Day. The children began the day by wrapping their “pins” they had made. Next, tissue flowers were made for the table decorations. We did a rehearsal of the Mother’s Day song. Before long, it was a full house! The mum’s were invited to sit down, and the children served them a refreshment, strawberries and cream, and “homemade” chocolate chip cookies the children made at Preschool. Everyone had a wonderful time.
A beautiful moment occurred. One of the children had hurt themselves. He wanted to sit for a few moments before returning to play. Another friend quickly chose a book so she could read to him, to help ease his discomfort. What a great lesson in Empathy!
Now we will continue with the life cycle of the frog. The tadpoles are doing well, and they seem to like the lettuce to munch on. No limbs have presented themselves yet.
