Linden Tree Place located at 8th Avenue & Vine Street, is a beautiful, newly built, fully accessible, non-smoking, no-pet building in the heart of Kitsilano, operated by Kitsilano Neighbourhood House, and just minutes from shops and public transit. All 30 units come with stainless steel appliances, on-site laundry and underground parking.

TENANT SELECTION CRITERIA
STANDARD UNITS:
• Older adults / seniors 55 years and older.
• Individuals with income below the BC Housing Household Income Limit (HIL).
• Priority to individuals currently living on the Westside of Vancouver (Granville west to UBC, Water south to 43rd Ave). If the list of applicants from the Westside has been exhausted, individuals who have previously lived on the Westside or have connections to the Westside will be considered.
• Priority to individuals who are inadequately housed; homeless, living in temporary shelter / housing, living with family / friends, high rent contribution (more than 30% of income), or current housing does not meet their needs (physical and mental health, social, emotional, cultural, and safety needs).
• Priority to individuals who value volunteerism and are willing and able to contribute 5 volunteer hours / month.
• Priority to individuals who value an inclusive, diverse, and mutually supportive living environment.
ACCESSIBLE UNITS:
• Priority to older adults / seniors 55 years and older with a physical disability. There will be flexibility in terms of the actual age deemed acceptable for accessible units; mature individuals or couples younger than 55 years will be considered if the list of applicants over 55 years who meet the disability criteria has been exhausted. However, the building is an adult-only building throughout (i.e. no children).
• Individuals with a physical disability with income below the BC Housing Household Income Limit (HIL).
• Priority to individuals with a Spinal Cord Injury or related physical disabilities and requiring the use of manual and power wheelchairs. SCI related physical disabilities include: acquired diseases that can cause tumors or cysts on the spine, viral or bacterial infections (including polio), degenerative disorders such as multiple sclerosis, or congenital disorders such as spina bifida. However, mobility impairments, including other degenerative conditions that could lead to a requirement for wheelchair use, could be considered if the list of applicants with SCI or related physical disabilities has been exhausted. Following the interview process, applicants may be required to provide medical confirmation of their disability prior to being accepted.
• Priority to individuals currently living on the Westside of Vancouver (Granville west to UBC, Water south to 43rd Ave). If the list of applicants from the Westside has been exhausted, individuals from other areas in the Lower Mainland will be considered. Priority will be given to those who have previously lived on the Westside or have connections to the Westside.
• Priority to individuals who are inadequately housed; homeless, living in temporary shelter / housing, living with family / friends, high rent contribution (more than 30% of income), or current housing does not meet their needs (physical and mental health, social, emotional, cultural and safety needs).
