A study group is beginning at Kits House to learn more about the forgotten and erased histories, including Aboriginal, immigrant and settler histories, in our neighbourhood. If you’re interested in exploring how our past continues to shape our community relationships, this is the study group for you. A UBC graduate student, Elizabeth Henry, is looking for adults who are interested in our neighbourhood histories and would like to learn more about the diversity of our local histories. Participants will be invited to attend three dialogue sessions, one interview and a follow-up meeting during the study. The study group will also brainstorm how forgotten histories of the Westside could be acknowledged in the new Kits House building.
If local histories interest you and you’d like to learn more about how to get involved in this study, please contact Elizabeth Henry by June 20 at 604-736-3588 or ehenry@interchange.ubc.ca.
