1. Free Yoga at Kits Beach

2. Grow a Herb Garden (Free Workshop)

Learn to grow a herb tea garden and make your very own blends with Keiko’s NSG workshop! Harvest your herbs on June 26th and join in on a tea & tasting party on July 13th!

3. Khatsalano Street Party

Preserve the true spirit of West 4th and join in on the creative, laid-back experience of the Khatsalano festival featuring multiple stages, artisans, street performers and more! Kits House will be partnering up with Vancity for some fun Hula-Hooping near the stage and in the kid zone with awesome carnival games and prizes!

7. Picnic in the Park

There’s will be tons to do at the Kitsilano Community Centre’s Picnic in the Park on Sunday, August 13, 11am-4pm.  The annual community festival is being held at Connaught Park, so you can also explore and shop for local produce at the Kitsilano Farmers Market.  This annual community celebration includes carnival games, bouncy castles, face painting, community booths, concession stands and a charity barbeque.  For $5 you can also purchase a wrist band to access the carnival rides.

8. Japanese Art of Origami & Game (Free Workshop)

The art or origami is a great tool for your brain health. Join NSG grantee Maya with special guest artist from Japan, Ms Hatsuki Yamada, to celebrate creativity and learn origami.

9. Kits Fest

KitsFest is a sports and healthy living community festival that celebrates diversity and inclusiveness for all ages and walks of life. This positive spirit helps us in our aim to build stronger community environments and share our success by giving back to our community through legacies such as our park facility upgrades and special events.  Join us Fri Aug 18-Sun Aug 20 down at Kits Beach (bottom of Arbutus St.) to celebrate healthy living and active lifestyles!

10. Kits Community Centre Movie in the Park

The West Broadway BIA is hosting a free outdoor movie night in Connaught Park. The showing of family-friendly flick “Sing” starts at 8pm. Pre-show fun starts at 6pm, featuring a fun movie-themed photo booth, local merchant prizes, W. Broadway dinner & a movie specials, concession stand and more.  Pack your blankets and pillow and come watch a movie al fresco with your neighbours.
