Food security is a pertinent component to Kits House and our purpose is to build a foundation for our neighbourhood and community members to have access to the tools and knowledge they need. We host a variety of food related programs for all ages. To get involved have a look below.

Community Potlucks

Grab your big spoon and serving dish and join us in the Kits House Living Room for delicious dinners, friendly conversation & gregarious games at our monthly potlucks! If you are able, bring a dish to share, vegetarian preferred.

Kits Cares Cafe

A free delicious meal available to anyone, once a week!

Food Skills Program


A hands-on cooking program where you’ll learn budgeting strategies, and how to cook nutritious meals for your family!



Have fun with hands-in cooking sessions, food-based activities with take-home recipes and group exercise and kick start your healthy life style.

Healthy Cooking with Preteens

A program, for preteens 7 - 12 years old, to learn to cook healthily, engage in physical activity and discuss skills to help pursue a healthy lifestyle.

Volunteer Baking Group

Are you a registered Kits House volunteer? If you love to bake and have some time to spare, Kits House can use your talents. Join us to create delicious baked goods for Kits House programs!
