Strengthening Connections
Kits House Family Resource Programs work in partnership with our local community to provide opportunities, strengthen connections, and build a more welcoming and inclusive community.
Strengthening Connections is a project that provides supports for newcomer families on the Westside. Through our Peer Support Program, parent and caregiver volunteers provide 1st language assistance and welcome newcomer families to their new home. Training is provided on cross-cultural communication, diversity, peer support, and leadership. Our existing Peer Support Volunteers speak: Mandarin, Spanish, Farsi and Arabic.
We are looking for new volunteers for the Peer Support Training for Parents / Caregivers
DATE: Saturdays Sept. 25th to Oct. 30th, 2010 (5 sessions)
TIME: 10am—12:30pm
LOCATION: UBC Acadia Park Commonsblock
(2707 Tennis Cres.)
