Dear Kitsilano Community,
We are currently putting Kits House membership renewals on hold as we wait to reopen during these tenuous and uncertain times.
We are working hard to help our local community stay healthy and connect those needing help. We are doing this through direct response to over 500 seniors and many families and by supporting volunteer groups that are popping up in our neighbourhood to heed the call to action in these unprecedented times.
We are grateful to the way that neighbours are being available to help one other to make it through, whether by grocery shopping, picking up medications, fixing up things and helping keep gardens in order amongst many other things.
We are looking to connect with businesses to help provide additional support to those currently in need. We are wanting to keep immune systems up by ensuring everyone in our neighbourhood can have access to food. We continue to support the local church meals on Thursday that have now changed their format due to Covid-19 to a distribution of pre-prepared meals. We are working with local restaurants to distribute hot meals to people self-isolating because they are required to or because they are vulnerable at this time.
If you would like to support your neighbours during this difficult time, then there are many ways you can do this. One is to be a part of the volunteer teams going out. We have links to both a local volunteer group and a centralized volunteer database. Our website at kitshouse.org has the details for both.
Additionally, we are taking donations online to help provide a boost to the food currently being distributed. All donations to Kits House for Covid-19 relief are used directly in the provision of food for those in need. All other donations will go 100% to community development. If you are interested, please press the donate button below. All donations that exceed $25 are valid for a charitable tax receipt. If you donate over $25 and would like to receive a charitable tax receipt please enter your address after clicking the the donation button.
If you are in need, contact BC211 either online or by dialling 211 on your phone and they will connect you to the appropriate service. They are handling these requests on our behalf and other organizations at this time.
Thank you and stay healthy

Could you point me to the links for the local volunteer group and centralized volunteer database? I haven’t been able to find them.
