The Kits House Environmental Committee is currently undergoing a revisioning and a restart. Volunteers from both the Westside community, as well as Kits House volunteers who are interested in working together to address climate issues, are welcome to join the Environmental Committee.
- The Environmental Committee is a KNH Board led committee.
- Board member Liam Maclure has taken on leading this committee and recruitment is underway for new members to join!
- The Environmental Committee is open to KNH volunteers and community members as well, so feel free to spread the word to your West Side friends and family who may have an interest in joining this committee.
- The group will likely have a local focus as we work together to discern what we can do for the neighborhood house’s own projects as well as Kitsilano generally.
- The committee may also look to collaborate with other environmental organizations given the nature of the climate crisis.
- The committee will support each other to feel like we can make a difference on climate; the antidote to climate anxiety is community and action.
- The committee will likely meet once a month
- The first meeting is set for Tuesday, January 31st at 5:30 pm.
- After this initial meeting, the group will decide on future meeting dates & times and a schedule will be set up.
