Kits House Childcare Enrollment and Priority Policy 

The waitlist for Kits House childcare programs is not first come first served. We have a priority rating system to ensure that spaces in Childcare Programs are being offered to those families who are a priority for those we serve on the Westside, as well as providing a continuum of care.

About

Our programs are child-centered and play-based. Programs emerge from children’s interests, and staff seek to engage children in meaningful activity based on their input. As such, programs are flexible and responsive, and actively seek out and integrate children’s feedback.  

Hudson Out Of School Care operates 5 days a week from 7:30-9am and 3-6pm. Care is offered for early dismissals and professional development days. Winter, Spring and Summer Camps are on site at Hudson Elementary. The afternoon is filled with stories, songs, games, activities, and local trips to the beach & park.  

We offer free playtime as well as structured programs and local outings to the library, beach and local neighbourhood.  

we have developed and implemented special interest clubs to help the children learn simple & valuable skills. Some of the training offered can include machine sewing and pattern cutting, designing and woodworking, gardening, drawing, and sports. 

A daily homework area is provided for anyone who wishes to use it. We have a cook who provides nutritious daily snacks, as well as optional lunches on “Long Days” (Non-Instructional days, District Closure days, Winter Break and Spring Break).

Waitlist

Families waitlisted by Hudson Child Care Society before September 1, 2024 will be transferred to Kits House Childcare systems and HCCS waitlist status will be honoured. 

The demand for childcare spots is high, we are doing our best to make spaces available for new families. Our waitlist is currently CLOSED. Please check Kits House’s website and social media regularly for when our waitlist will re-open.
