The Collective Tennyson Childcare Centre

Kits House will be operating the childcare centre that will be incorporated into the new Lord Tennyson Elementary School building upon completion. The projected opening date is December 2020. The childcare centre will include the following programs and spaces:

  • 12 full time infant spaces (0 to 18 months)
  • 12 full time toddler spaces (18 to 36 months)
  • 25 full time spaces for children aged 3-5 years
  • 16 spaces in a part time pre-kindergarten program for children aged 3-5 that operates from 9:15am-2:15pm
  • 20 spaces for before and after school care

Kits House childcare programs create a community of learning, where community development work meets childhood education. We embrace the process of learning, encouraging our teachers to be present, listening and growing alongside our children. We support the interests of the children. The materials offered to the children are rich with creative possibilities. Highly qualified staff ensure a Reggio Emilia inspired approach to learning through their delight in children, an understanding of the value of play, their vision, heart, knowledge, skills, and a strong commitment to families. We encourage our learners to think creatively, to innovate, while experiencing the world through compassionate eyes.
