As the cold winter weather rolls in, there is nothing quite like the feeling of pulling on a favorite, comfy sweater or wrapping up in a cozy blanket. This season, we want to bring that feeling of warmth and comfort to our neighborhood.
On Saturday, November 28th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Kits House is opening its doors for our Share the Warmth: Kits House Winter Swap & Donation.
Let’s be honest, many of us have a great winter coat, a warm scarf, or a cozy sweater tucked away in a closet and rarely worn. Rather than letting those items sit unused, why not pass them along to a neighbour who could enjoy them this winter? It’s a chance to refresh your wardrobe, share what you no longer need, and help keep our community warm as the weather turns colder.
How it works:
- Bring up to 10 winter items (coats, sweaters, scarves, etc.) to swap with your neighbours.
- Bring extra donations if you have them! We will gratefully accept clean, good-condition winter essentials like coats, hats, scarves, gloves, and blankets.
- Enjoy a morning of community connection. Grab a warm drink, browse the swap, and chat with neighbours.
- Spread the warmth. Any items that don’t find a new home at the swap as well as the donated items will be distributed to local non-profits and community organizations, including those serving residents in the Downtown Eastside.
Let’s look out for one another and make this winter a little warmer for everyone.
