History
Food security on the Westside kept arising as an important issue at our monthly service providers meetings. In the spring of 2006, members of that group began to meet for the sole purpose of exploring food security on the west side. It soon became apparent that service providers and community members were keenly interested in networking and collaborating on this issue, hence the development of the Westside Food Collaborative.

Mission
WFC will coordinate efforts, build collective capacity and form a unified voice of community service organizations providing food supports to the Westside residents. Through coordinated collective impact efforts, we will work to improve availability and access to adequate food resources for the most vulnerable community members. Together, we will work towards addressing the underlying factors leading to food insecurity, to advance the vision for a just and sustainable food system for all.
