About

How well do you know your neighbours? Do you have someone to ask for help in times of need? How well are you prepared for emergencies?

Good Neighbour Kitsilano is a grassroots community initiative on a mission to make Kitsilano the most connected, caring and resilient neighbourhood!

And we do that through our Good Neighbour Block Connector Program, based on three pillars: Connect, Care and Prepare, that aims to connect neighbours, build networks of care and support and prepare for emergencies. Block Connectors are volunteers that help connect neighbours on a city block/apartment building/apartment floor. We provide all the necessary training and resources (explore our Resources section!) to make it easy to connect!

Will you join the movement to make Kitsilano the most connected, caring and resilient neighbourhood?

Good Neighbour Kitsilano is an independently organized, volunteer-run grassroots group, brought to you by your neighbours, in partnership with Building Resilient Neighbourhoods and  Kitsilano Neighbourhood House, and generous support of Neighbourhood Small Grants, funded by Vancouver Foundation and administered by Kits House. Good Neighbour Kitsilano is a member of Communities Building Belonging, Tamarack Institute for Community Engagement.

Upcoming Events

On July 25, Good Neighbour Kitsilano is hosting a FREE Emergency Preparedness event – Grab and Go Bag Train-the-Trainer workshop – and you are invited to join! You will learn about the importance of a Grab& Go Bag, what you should include in it and why (you will be surprised!). Most importantly, you will learn how to share this valuable information with your neighbours – because neighbourly connections are an essential part of any emergency preparedness effort! You will be provided with posters, checklists, resources and have an opportunity to borrow a Grab and Go Bag Demonstration Kit to deliver the workshop for your neighbours. Spaces are limited.
