The services are provided by master’s of counselling students, doctoral students, and doctoral interns as part of their professional training. Getting Started
Step 1: Complete the Registration Form
Fill out the online registration form to join the waitlist.
Step 2: Screening Phone Call
After completing the form a doctoral intern will contact you for a brief screening call. During this call, they will ask about:
- Your reasons for seeking counselling
- Basic demographic information
- Your availability
- Any preferences you may have for a counsellor
Step 3: Matching Process
Based on your needs, preferences, and clinician availability, you will be matched with a student clinician.
Step 4: Book Your First Session
Your student clinician will contact you to schedule your first counselling appointment.
Note: The sessions are free with an annual Kits House Membership = $10. You can purchase a membership online or the Kits House Front Desk.

How many counselling sessions can I receive?
Clients typically begin with 8 counselling sessions. As counselling progresses, your clinician will discuss with you whether additional sessions may be beneficial.
How often are sessions?
Counselling sessions are typically:
- Once per week
- 50 minutes long
- Scheduled on the same day and time each week
If your availability changes, you can discuss scheduling options with your clinician.
