Kits House is excited to partner with TrueNetwork Community Solutions Society on Voices in Place, a dementia-inclusive community celebration coming to 4th and Maple Plaza. The event is part of the City of Vancouver’s Community Placemaking Program, which supports community groups in activating underused public spaces – turning them into welcoming, inclusive gathering places for the neighbourhood.
This event reflects our ongoing commitment to building an inclusive and accessible, intergenerational community. This event promotes a community where older adults, including people living with dementia, are cared for, actively included, and celebrated as creators, storytellers, and neighbours.
By co-creating art, music, and hands-on activities alongside people living with dementia and their caregivers, the event brings generations together in shared creative experience, helping to reduce social isolation and build genuine connection across age groups. It honours Vancouver’s public spaces as belonging to everyone, turning a plaza into a site of activation, participation, and belonging.
